Sweet Melody Synopsis

Sweet Melody is a romantic story about a simple girl named Lynette who moves to the big city, hoping to blossom her love for music. However, on her first day in the big city, she meets an arrogant, cold-hearted boy named Eric. Lynette and Eric both despise each other after their first meeting, but when a class project forces them to work together, both Lynette and Eric learn to push aside their hatred to learn a deeper meaning to music and love.

Main Characters:

Lee Ji Eun (IU) as Lynette Lee

Lynette Lee, is an easy-going girl. She grew up in Anseong, Gyeonggi Province with her parents and her older brother John. Since she could remember, Lynette had always loved music. She is a passionate singer and talented musician. Lynette just graduated high school. She wants to continue her education to pursue a career in music. However, when she broke the news about attending Seoul University to family, her parents were not happy. Yet, she insisted on going. In the end, her parents gave up and allowed Lynette to move into the big city to pursue her love for music. 

 Kim Kibum (Key) as Eric Kim

Eric is an arrogant, and cold hearted kid. He grew up in Seoul with his Mom and younger sister, Judy. Eric was always a happy kid. However, Eric's rude behavior began after his dad left the family after Judy turned three. Since then, Eric holds a strong grudge against his father. He attends Seoul University in hopes of becoming a famous musician. But on the first day of school, he meets sweet, innocent Lynette and hates her for spilling his coffee over his sweater. But he begins to soften up when his professor forces him to work with Lynette for a class project.

Park In-Jung (Soyeon) as Lani Park

Lani is a talented singer. She attends Seoul University with Lynette and Eric. Lani went to Elementary school with Eric and has had a crush on him since she met him. Although she knows Eric doesn't like her, she still continues to pursue him in hopes that one day he will like her too. However, when Lynette gets into the picture, she becomes furious, and does everything in her power to keep the two away from each other.

Cho Kyu-Hyun as Ryan Cho

Ryan is a nice and sweet guy. He grew up with both Eric and Lani and is really good friends with Eric. Ryan attends Seoul University. He is an amazing singer and hopes to become a famous musician, just like Eric. However, his friendship with Eric gets a bit rocky when he starts to fall for Lynette.

Goo Hara as Judy Kim

Judy is Eric's little sister. She is a sweet, and lovable girl, unlike her brother. When she meets Lynette, Judy becomes very fond of her because of her nice personality. However, she despises Lani, since they were younger. But when Lani starts her evil plan towards Lynette, Judy is eager to help her brother and Lynette be together.

Park Yoochun (Micky) as John Lee

John is Lynette's older brother. He is very sweet and friendly. John loves his family, especially his younger sister Lynette. He is very protective of her, especially since she's away from the family. He visits her often, and keeps an eye out on her. 

Park Sang Hyun as Thunder Park

Thunder is friends with Eric and Ryan. He's the silly one from the group. He has a huge crush on Eric's younger sister Judy.
